RULES

PASJ 2026 | The Rules

This is a 100% Slow jams clash, Soul, Rare Groove  & Mid tempo RnB that also falls into the slow jam bracket will be allowed.

Anyone that plays a song Blatantly outside of the permitted genres will be shown a yellow card by one of our referees. A second yellow card will result in disqualification.

A repeat song that has already been played by another sound will also result in a yellow card UNLESS stated before the playing of the song that it is a counteraction to a previously played song.

This is a 45 clash, however sounds are welcome to play dubplates if they like

Remixes are allowed providing the remixes are kept within the permitted genres. I.e no dancehall acapellas over slow jam rhythm tracks.

This year tunes that are “borderline” with being classified a slow jam will not be granted a yellow card but referees will be encouraged to urge the crowd to consider the selection when voting for sounds to go through to the next round or be eliminated

Though we are implementing a dancehall structure to this clash this is 100% slow jams all night. This is a night for lovers of good music to come and have some fun whilst appreciating some serious Jams.

Please ensure you are at the venue for the start of clash to ensure everyone is given a fair chance for the crowd to judge rounds fairly

Rounds will be judged based on judges seeking crowd response. Referees will request to either make noise to vote or a show of hands if required.

Rounds that appear to be too close to call will go to our VAR Panel and a final vote will take place to decide which sound will go through
