Deer in the Headlights?

Dizzle the Comedian and Ceesix

Deer in the Headlights?

Deer in the Headlights? More Like the Dark Horses of the Night

If there was one act that had the crowd laughing before a single tune dropped, it was the unlikely pairing of Dizzle the Comedian and Ceesix. From the opening moments, the duo leaned fully into the underdog narrative, poking fun at themselves while taking playful shots at their more established rivals.

Dizzle wasted no time admitting that they were supposedly out of their depth, cheekily telling the audience that if they managed to knock out any of the seasoned sound systems, those selectors should be “ashamed of themselves.” The self-deprecating humour didn’t stop there, with Dizzle joking that he’d only booked the babysitter until a certain time because he never expected to make it past the second round.

Ceesix matched the energy, revealing that he’d only prepared playlists up to Round Two, convinced that the veteran sounds many known for their slowjam selections would have sent them packing long before Round Three. “Everything after that,” he laughed, “was basically Round Three freestyle music.” He also reminded the crowd that he and Dizzle were “just a podcast duo,” claiming they were not only exceeding the audience’s expectations but their own as well.

What started as comic relief soon became one of the night’s biggest talking points. Round after round, the pair defied the odds, combining clever crowd engagement with confident selections to earn their place in the final tune-for-tune showdown.

Although New Winner Roadshow ultimately claimed the victory, Dizzle and Ceesix walked away with their heads held high after delivering one of the standout performances of the clash. Their mix of humour, personality and fearless approach won over the crowd and proved that experience isn’t always the deciding factor when the pressure is on.

If this performance is anything to go by, Dizzle and Ceesix have announced themselves as genuine contenders, and we’ll be watching with interest to see what they bring to the PASJ Sound Clash 2027.
